Product Description

The name says it all: Mariner Sport. With its black pearl metallic gloss, blacked-out components and 20-inch rim frames, the Mariner S is one of the sharpest-looking and most compact e-bikes in its class. Weighing in at a very manageable 45 pounds, the Mariner S is lightweight, foldable, rust-resistant and easily stored, whether in a small aircraft , boat cabin, auto trunk or closet. Just give a half-twist to the throttle, activating “power-on-demand” propulsion, and away you go. Cruise along at speeds of up to 17 mph with its free-spinning, 250-watt motor mounted to the front wheel, which delivers 500 watts at peak. The Mariner Sports has a maximum range of 35 miles per charge, thanks to the 38-volt, 9-amp hour advanced lithium ion battery (LiFePO4). You will also admire the control and dependability of the Avid BB5 front disc brake and 180 HS1 heat shedding rotor plus the efficient and reliable Single Digit 5 V in the rear. In addition to the high-end, salt-air friendly aluminum features, the Mariner Sport is equipped with a reinforced, heavy duty KMC K810 chain. This impressive package ensures an effortless ride around town or seaside, all while offering the option of pedaling for exercise.

  1. Fun Little Bike to Ride

Posted by Susan on 8th Mar 2011

I've only had the bike for about a week. Because it is a folding bike, it came completely assembled with the exception of putting on the seat. It was very easy to unfold. The battery was already charged when I received it. I had a little problem putting the battery on the bike but realized I was being too gentle with it. You can tell the battery isn't in place when the key won't fit in the key hole. Once I attached the battery and inserted the key, I took it out for my first ride. It's only one speed so it was actually easy to use. When it got a little hard to pedal, I just twisted the throttle on the right handlebar and it took off. Since it is only 200w and 24v it doesn't have a lot of extra power, but it worked on small hills. I haven't tried it on some of the larger hills we have around here. The brakes worked great and they needed no adjustment. I really enjoy riding it. My only wish is that it had a little more power.
